For example, If I have 5 “save 35 cents” coupons on a certain product, can I use them all even if I only buy one?

I always see people going through the self-checkout lane with 0 worth of groceries and a handful of coupons and they walk out paying -20. I can’t figure out how they do this.

so, just one movement, so the current “dollar” retains its value, but it is called “100 cents”, and 10 dollars are still worth 10 dollars but written as 1 dollar. This would fit better with the sets of three 000 in larger numbers (1,000,000,000,000,etc). What psychological effects could occur in this hypothetical situation?

Other countries have done this several times over the years. The results are inconsistent. Here are a few instances you can research:
Mexico (1982, 1000 old pesos = 1 new Peso)
Romania (2005, 10000 old Lei = 1 new Lei)
Turkey (2002, 1,000,000 old Lira = 1 new Lira)
Yugoslavia remonetized in 1993 and again in 1994. Yugoslavia ceased to exist as a nation in 1996.
Argentina, Brazil, and Chile have each remonetized at least twice.
Zimbabwe remonetized in 2004, 2008, and 2009; and finally abandoned their own currency, They now use US Dollars or South African Rands.

You may continue the beginning of the next 4 lines but keep in mind, others will be trying to rhyme with where you leave off.
